Job Description

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Charleys Cheesesteaks will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant. The AGM will assist in managing the team, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to develop your leadership skills and gain experience for future growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support: Assist the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service, high-quality food, and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Help recruit, hire, train, and develop team members to ensure they are fully equipped to perform their roles effectively. Provide coaching and feedback to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Customer Service: Ensure customers receive the best possible service. Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist with managing store financials, including controlling labor costs, food costs, and inventory to meet financial goals. Ensure the store is operating within budget.
  • Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels, assist in ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to reduce waste and maintain product quality.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Help ensure the restaurant maintains proper health, safety, and food safety standards in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.
  • Employee Training & Development: Support ongoing training efforts, ensuring team members are knowledgeable about menu items, company standards, and safety procedures.
  • Problem Solving & Decision-Making: Step in to handle operational challenges, staffing issues, or customer complaints as needed, helping to resolve any issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Scheduling & Labor Management: Assist in creating work schedules, ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained to meet operational needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in the restaurant or foodservice industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a great dining experience.
  • Solid understanding of financials, including labor costs, food cost management, and inventory control.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as food handling procedures.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • A passion for food, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
