Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Litigation Associate with experience handling municipal, civil and commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 4 years of litigation experience, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent municipalities, public entities, and businesses in litigation matters, including contract disputes, regulatory issues, land use, zoning, and governmental defense.
• Handle commercial litigation cases involving breach of contract, business torts, real estate disputes, and other complex civil matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, and conduct legal research.
• Manage discovery, including depositions, document production, and interrogatories.
• Appear in state and federal courts and administrative hearings on behalf of clients.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to municipal clients on risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies tailored to specific cases.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Illinois Bar. Strong preference for those also barred in Missouri.
• 3-4 years of litigation experience with a focus on municipal or commercial litigation.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience representing public sector entities, businesses, or insurers is preferred.

Location:  Edwardsville, IL - hybrid or remote option.
