As the Chief of Staff, you will act as the AMAPAC President’s right hand, providing support in various areas to ensure success in all areas of the President's dealings. The primary duties include overseeing overall operational activities on behalf of the President, track and orchestrate performance management processes to ensure business execution, manage escalations, communications, aggregate information, and drive strategic projects to provide relevant information to support decision making. Responsibilities may also include supporting the executive in their decision-making and fostering collaboration across the organization. This role will serve as a bridge between the executive and other teams, ensuring alignment and efficient execution of the organization's goals.

Position can be based at GXO facility in High Point, NC or Dallas, TX with 25%-50% travel.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Build strategic but detailed reports, briefings and presentations and establish standards for President’s presentations to ensure effective, high-quality information sharing and decision making
  • Ability to understand the bigger picture and contribute to long-term planning.
  • Coordinate, prepare and facilitate internal and external communication on behalf of President, and linking the leadership team and the broader organization
  • Make routine operational decisions within scope of authority
  • Track and orchestrate performance management processes to ensure business execution
  • Drive Regional Priority Plans, ensure workstream leaders and projects are properly synchronized, deliverables tracked, and escalations are provided to aid decision making
  • Organize Executive procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity
  • Supports decision making process by providing insights with wide ranging view
  • Sets and/or monitors Executive key performance indicators to measure and improve team performance.
  • Works behind the scenes to find solutions to problems and deal with issues before they are brought to the President
  • Create timely and accurate briefings on various topics of interest for the President
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to develop actionable intelligence and recommendations in support of Executive business requirements
  • Work across the company to facilitate relevant benchmarking and industry relevant information
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to President, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas, offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly
  • Consult with other leadership team members and serve as a sounding board to them to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the CEO regarding high impact decisions
  • Manage the President’s brand and reputation
  • Motivate and guide teams, and influence others without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and optimize workflows.
  • Identify and analyze problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions.
  • Work with the executive to define and execute strategic priorities, conduct research, and analyze data to inform decisions.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7+ years of experience in an executive capacity, working with the C-Suite for at least 5 years
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Strategic planning, problem solving and decision-making skills

It’d be great if you also have:

  • MBA or advanced degree in related field.
