Location Description:The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping operations at our 170-room resort. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, while leading a team of housekeeping staff to maintain the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily operations of the housekeeping department, including room attendants, housepersons, laundry staff, and supervisors.
Plan and schedule staff shifts, monitor productivity, and ensure coverage based on occupancy and operational needs.
Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand and safety standards.
Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, linens, uniforms, and equipment within budget guidelines.
Train, coach, and mentor team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service.
Collaborate with front desk and maintenance teams to address room status, guest requests, and maintenance issues promptly.
Monitor department performance metrics, such as room turn times, guest satisfaction scores, and internal audit results.
Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA and health regulations, hotel policies, and industry standards.
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development planning.
3+ years of housekeeping management experience in a hotel or resort setting (preferably 100+ rooms).
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of housekeeping equipment, chemicals, and OSHA safety standards.
Experience with property management systems (e.g., Opera, Alice, HotSOS, or equivalent) preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
