Position Overview The Insurance Account Team Leader is a leadership position within the agency, combining high-level sales responsibilities with team management. This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a leadership role while still being highly involved in the sales process. You will lead a team of specialists, help with hiring and training, and ensure that the team meets performance and customer service goals.
Essential Responsibilities - Drive sales by acquiring new clients and managing high-value accounts. Lead by example and maintain high sales activity.
- Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of Account Specialists. Monitor team performance and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Manage the hiring process, including screening candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new team members.
- Lead ongoing training sessions for new hires and current team members to improve sales effectiveness and customer service skills.
Requirements - 3+ years in insurance sales, customer service, or team leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals.
- Property/Casualty and Life/Health insurance licenses required.
- Proven ability to manage a team, handle complex client situations, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Compensation: $70,000–$78,000 per year + bonus (up to $12,000 annually)
Bonus Structure - Quarterly Performance Bonus
- Team Leadership Bonus: Up to $300 for maintaining team performance metrics, such as meeting sales and retention goals.
- Hiring Bonus: $250 for each successful hire (up to 3 per quarter).
- Client Satisfaction Bonus: $10 for each positive client review.
- Tiered Production Bonus (Individual Focus)
- 5 policies = $250
- 10 policies = $500
- 15+ policies = $750
- Cross-sell bonus (example): $100 for every cross-sell of life policy or additional coverage
- Hybrid Sales + Retention/Service Bonus
- Sales Metrics: $500 for meeting sales goal (policies written)
- Retention & Service Metrics:
- $200 for fewer than 3 billing errors/chargebacks
- $100 for 3+ positive client reviews in a month
- Quarterly Payout: Additional 5% of base salary if all metrics are achieved.
- Team-Based Pool Bonus (Agency-Wide)
- Agency-wide performance metrics: Total policies written, client retention, and customer service
- Bonus pool distributed based on individual contributions:
- 40% based on policies written
- 30% based on service satisfaction
- 30% on team support/mentoring
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
