Job Description and Duties

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Supervising Real Estate Officer in the Asset Enhancement and Surplus Sales Unit, this position performs the independent leasing of excess state-owned real property for development of affordable housing pursuant to EO N-06-19. By utilizing the Statewide Property Inventory (SPI) the position assists departments with the identification of real property that is excess to programmatic needs. This position also performs the independent disposition of surplus and excess state-owned real property by sale, exchange, transfer, or lease to local governmental agencies, affordable housing sponsors, and private entities and individuals.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
