Job Description
Our client, a B2B communications agency in NYC is, looking for a Website Designer/Strategist with experience working with financial clients for an ongoing contract. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the user experience across a range of digital platforms, with a primary focus on websites. From the early stages of strategic discovery and planning through to the design and implementation of high-fidelity webpages, this role requires a hybrid thinker equally comfortable with UX strategy and visual design. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to generate sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes, as well as design user-centric interfaces and contribute to cohesive, scalable design systems. Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable. This is a hybrid role and requires 2-days/week onsite in Manhattan.
Responsibilities:- Lead and contribute to the strategic planning and discovery phase of website projects
- Conduct and synthesize stakeholder interviews to inform site architecture and user experience
- Develop sitemaps, wireframes, and low- to high-fidelity prototypes
- Design intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging webpages
- Generate and maintain UI components, content layouts, and visual assets
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Create and manage design systems, style guides, and digital brand standards
- Translate complex business goals and user needs into clear, strategic design solutions
- Participate in UX audits and contribute to ongoing optimization of digital experiences
- Present design concepts and documentation to internal teams and clients for feedback and approval
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in website strategy, UX/UI design, and high-fidelity website design
- Proven ability to originate and evolve wireframes, sitemaps, and prototypes
- Strong understanding of design systems, responsive design, and accessibility best practices
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar
- Experience collaborating with developers and understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics)
- Strong communication skills and experience leading client-facing discussions and workshops
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented with a user-first mindset and strategic thinking approach
- Prior experience in the financial industry strongly preferred
