Shift: Monday Friday, 6:45 AM 3:15 PM
The Certified Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide safe, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive surgical patient care. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance during procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare the surgical suite and gather required instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Assist with surgical counts, time-outs, scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping procedures.
Pass instruments and anticipate the needs of the surgeon during surgical procedures.
Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
Handle surgical specimens and prepare post-operative dressings.
Support inventory control, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness in the OR.
Participate in staff training, precepting, and quality/process improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with safety, hospital policies, and Joint Commission standards.
High School Diploma or GED (required)
National Certification (CST or Tech in Surgery Certified) (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
LPN License (preferred)
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and instrumentation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
Collaborative team player with a commitment to patient safety.
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
Critical thinking skills and adaptability in emergency situations.
