Position Overview:  

Join our client in shaping the future of aviation!  Our client  is seeking an experienced Technical Officer Representative to enhance our team. Our Ideal candidate will support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Operations to ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. Responsibilities include maintaining daily records, coordinating with contractors, monitoring progress against the schedule, and addressing any issues with the Project Engineer and engineering staff. The representative also participates in inspections, prepares construction documents and cost estimates, and manages project risks through risk management plans and registers.

Key qualifications include proven experience in construction oversight, strong knowledge of construction practices and quality assurance, proficiency in construction documentation and cost estimation, and familiarity with construction regulations. Preferred qualifications include experience in FAA construction projects or another federal agency/DoD. Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. This candidate MUST RESIDE WITHIN 30 MILES OF MAJOR AIRPORT (that offers direct flights to multiple regional locations daily).

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 millio n passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. A key component of that coordination involves the collaborative use of aviation tools and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Oversight: Ensure that all construction activities comply with the approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. This includes maintaining daily records, coordinating with contractors, and monitoring construction progress to ensure work is on schedule and within scope.

  • Coordination & Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, the Project Engineer, and the engineering staff. Address any issues, provide timely updates on project status, and ensure smooth communication across all stakeholders.

  • Project Inspections & Documentation: Participate in site inspections and quality assurance checks. Prepare and maintain detailed construction documents, including cost estimates, project schedules, and risk management plans. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage potential project risks. Develop and maintain risk management plans and registers to mitigate delays or issues that may arise during the construction process.

  • Cost Estimation & Budget Management: Support the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that the project stays within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Apply strong knowledge of construction practices, quality assurance, and safety protocols to ensure projects meet both regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.

  • Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Actively identify problems and resolve any challenges related to construction processes, scheduling, or resource allocation. Collaborate with engineering staff to implement solutions in real-time.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited United States Institution)
  • Must have 5 years' experience; Preferred experience supporting the FAA or other US Government clients
  • Eligible to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Applicant must have a current Real ID, valid US passport or be eligible to obtain one within 30 days of employment
