Associate Broadcast Engineer **Employment Type:** Full Time **Date Posted:** 5/29/2025 **Location:** Sunnyvale, CA **Pay Range:** $115000.00 - $130000.00 per Year **Job Number:** JO-2505-2656 **Primary Function** As an Associate Broadcast Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in operating, maintaining, and supporting cutting edge technology as part of the customers' event studios, premium event centers, and digital event environments. You will work alongside Sr. Broadcast Engineers, Broadcast Engineers, Producers, Technicians and other experts during events, collaborating with Operations. You will help maintain audiovisual, conferencing, and production infrastructure, balancing the integration of new technology while supporting legacy hardware and systems to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences. You will learn and grow your expertise, troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the evolving demands of in-person, hybrid, and digital events. Supporting the control and application of all technical equipment is key to the Associate Broadcast Engineering role. The Associate Broadcast Engineer will help maintain documentation of systems and support the Broadcast Engineers and larger engineering team. You will support events to ensure they are executed flawlessly and with precision. Hybrid in-office 3+ days/week **Duties & Responsibilities** + In a live show environment, provide technical support in the field of AV engineering, supporting all related disciplines such as troubleshooting, monitoring, calibration, maintenance support, and documentation. Conduct pre-event testing and rehearsals, show day checklists and run of show protocols, and event strike upon conclusion, bringing forth any incidents or areas for continuous improvement + Interact with Broadcast Engineers and Sr. Broadcast Engineers ensuring common technological solutions and workflows are maintained + Help maintain SOPs and conduct RCA research + Identify challenges in event support and work with Engineering leadership to offer solutions + Support the maintenance engineering team in repair, replacement, or creation of engineered solutions of equipment and infrastructure as needed to keep integrated systems and enterprise technology functional and performing to industry standards + Apply troubleshooting best practices and root cause analysis to identify weaknesses, minimizing recurrence, and improve future design and integration + Update database of equipment assets and inventory + Recommend alternatives to infrastructure including replacement of systems and equipment + Update system documentation and service manuals related to equipment + Update technical drawings, signal flow diagrams and integrated systems designs in standard software packages such as CAD, Visio, etc. + Interact often with other technical and non-technical client staff + Support training of all operations staff on equipment and procedures + Other duties as assigned **Skills & Qualifications** + General knowledge of legacy and state-of-the industry multimedia systems and equipment used in best-in-class event centers + Solid technical problem-solving skills and an interest in developing new strategies + An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and a strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution is critical + Strong results orientation with a flexible attitude to deliver seamless and timely services to customers + Knowledge of audio and video production tools such as cameras, mixers, monitors, editing systems, etc. and able to correctly setup and diagnose problems with such equipment + Familiarity with AV equipment and control systems, including Ross Ultrix/Carbonite/Expression, Crestron, Dante, Q-Sys, Panasonic, L-Acoustics, Yamaha and others + Understanding of basic networking equipment and software + Troubleshooting skills related to broadcast AV and enterprise AV + Ability to create, read and notate on high-level schematics, signal flow diagrams and construction drawings, Proficient with CAD programs + Must be proficient in Google Workspace + Candidate must be a proactive problem solver and a team player + Candidate must have strong verbal communications skills, be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments + Strong interpersonal skills. Sensitivity and tact in dealing with staff/partners/clients at different levels in a culturally diverse environment + Candidate must have a commitment to excellence and to ongoing education + Must be capable of working at heights in an aerial lift, have good balance, work in tight spaces under desks and within IT racks. + Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 60 pounds **Education & Experience** + 2+ years' experience for broadcast or AV; large market/facility + 5+ years' in a live program environment + Associates degree in technical field or comparative education/training + AVIXA CTS or CTS-I preferred, DES or other specialized certifications are a plus **To Apply** Use the link at the bottom of this page to apply.
